21/5/2019: Impro-concertOn Tuesday evening 21 May 2019 at 7.45 pm we organize an unique improvisation concert in which musicians in the garden of Leo XIII (via Vesaliusstraat 2 in Leuven) among the large lime trees, enter into a dialogue with the carillon of the university library at the Ladeuze. Sound and image are streamed live from the library tower to the garden of the Leo XIII seminary.
Carillonneur Luc Rombouts leads the improvisation, the musicians and singers enter into a dialogue with his carillon sounds that will be blown over the roofs, but also with our own front bells that sound the melody of Caelestis Aulae Nuntius. Led by composer and Leo XIII alumnus Jo Coenen, the musicians will improvise freely and create a unique sound happening. The sound image of this seminary garden gets an unprecedented depth: carillon sounds merge with the rustling of the trees, birds that whistle ... This 30-minute concert is free. Afterwards there is a possibility to chat with a drink in the bar of Leo XIII seminar. This concert is made possible in part thanks to support from the Culture Committee of the KU Leuven. |
